Waking up and getting to work at 7 a. Once that finished we went out and had our own areas to be at to help with questions from exhibitors or from the public walking through the barns.
There were usually shows going on as well which each intern had there own show they were helping out with that included doing paper work assisting with the judge and the exhibitors showing their animals. Best seasonal work I have ever done. Though its a long three weeks, you get free tickets for you and your family.

quirenboyfor.tk I took this job because of my love of the Fair since I have been going as a small child. I was disappointed to find much of that childhood wonder dashed when I took this job. I enjoyed the management, including my direct manager who was always there with a dry joke, and many of my co-workers I became good work friends with, but the true problems were the drivers.
Multiple times did I have people disregard my commands, despite explaining what they were and weren't allowed to do in the parking areas, including one gentleman who tried to clip me with his large truck. In addition to the general unpleasantly, there was a level of rudeness to myself and my co-workers from the more wealthier guests, which included calling a few of us "the help. There was also little incentive to keep on working each year, as it took five years to get a 25 cent raise, and with no other benefits than free fair admission, it is hard to want to return year after year as a parking employee.
Free entrance to the fair, free tickets, making friends with other workers. No overtime, low pay, disrespected by fair attendees, low morale. Its a good job, but its only for the summer.
